Nader Anise Makes a Presentation on Global Coptic Day at the St. Stephen’s Retreat Center

Fort Lauderdale, FL, February 27, 2019 — During the dual diocese priests’ meeting with the clergy from the Southern U.S. Diocese and the Los Angeles Diocese held at the St. Stephen’s Retreat Center in Titusville, Florida, Nader Anise spoke at length about Global Coptic Day. During his talk, Anise presented the objectives and detail of the celebration. He also fielded numerous questions from the clergy. After he concluded, he shot some videos of the bishops and priests endorsing the day. In addition to over 100  priests of both dioceses in attendance, His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion, His Grace Bishop Youssef, His Grace Bishop Suriel, His Grace Bishop  Arsani (from the Netherlands), His Grace Bishop Abraham, His Grace Bishop Kyrillos, His Grace Bishop Basil, and His Grace Gregory were also present.

The joyful occasion took place at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbasiyya, Cairo, after the ordination of five new bishops. The icon is symbolic of the first ever Global Coptic Day to be celebrated on June 1, 2019. It is the same day on which the Coptic Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of our Lord Jesus Christ’s entry into Egypt (with St. Mary and St. Joseph the Carpenter).
